Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says a win Sunday will kick start the team

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour is adamant that a win Sunday is a must, if the team are to kick start their season and turn it around after being dumped out of all four competitions once again by mid February, and after being knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup in succession Parlour believes the perfect chance to turn their season around and to find confidence again is by beating rivals Tottenham who are currently 10 points ahead them in third place in the Premier League.

Arsenal do have a tough run in the next few weeks with Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool all to come and who are all fighting it out for that coveted fourth spot with only four points to separate the teams with Liverpool an Newcastle to come first – Arsenal are level on points in fourth with Chelsea and Newcastle are just a point behind with Liverpool close behind them, so no mistakes from now or this season will become even more of an uphill struggle more so than at this time.

Speaking on Alan Bazil’s Sports Breakfast, Ray Parlour told him: “I just hope Arsenal show up [against Tottenham],” “The AC Milan match was one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Now they’ve got three games to bounce back. The next couple of games are going to be vital.”

“Arsenal have got Tottenham at home, Liverpool away and Newcastle at home, those three games are against teams that are contending for that fourth place.”

“It’s a massive month for Arsene Wenger and his team. If they can get a positive result on Sunday it can set them up for the season.”
