Arsenal Injury News: Koscielny, Gibbs Should Be Ok; Ramsey Not So Much

Arsene Wenger has had his pre-match press conference, and it appears that Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs should be fit enough to play against Tottenham on Sunday. Aaron Ramsey and Francis Coquelin, however, will be absent, with Ramsey having an ankle problem and Coquelin with a hamstring injury. A return date hasn't yet been set by the manager.


Koscielny and Gibbs will both have fitness tests tomorrow, but Jamie Sanderson, who knows more than most, tweeted that Koscielny, Chamakh and Jenkinson all trained normally today. If the latter two are involved, they will be involved from the bench; Jenkinson isn't fit enough to play right back for a full match if Bacary Sagna was forced to play left back, and Marouane Chamakh isn't exactly in a prolific run of form.


The return of Koscielny will be a boost to an Arsenal defence that looked very shaky without him. Koscielny has been Arsenal's best defender this season, and they will need him if they are to stop Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart. Kieran Gibbs returning means Arsenal will again play with their first choice defence, as they did against Milan. Tottenham, though, are not as good as Milan, and Koscielny and Gibbs have had more time to work with Vermaelen and Sagna. 


 Finally, it seems that Andre Santos will return in approximately 3 weeks, according to his Twitter.
